I am working on some technical architecture diagrams and have found that I have too many elements to fit cleanly on a single page.
I believe that I can use hyperlinks to get around this problem, but all of the hyperlinking documentation that I have found does not seem to work with my versions of Visio. I have both Visio 2010 Professional and 2013 Standard.
I want page-1 of my document to be the entire diagram. I want to link the content of subsequent pages back to page-1 at 50% zoom. My intention is to shrink everything so that fits on one page, but allow people to click on individual elements to jump to the page where those elements are full size (100%).
I think that I did the first part right. I created the larger diagram on page-2 and then I created a hyperlink to the elements.
My understanding is that I am supposed to be able to go back to page-1, use the "Borders & Titles" stencil, select a hyper-link object and place it on the page.
Neither of my versions of Visio have Borders & Titles, and I have not found any documentation about how to achieve the same thing in 2010 or 2013.
Is what I want to do possible? To re-iterate, I want the primary drawing on page-1. The primary drawing will be 50% zoomed (shrunken) links to drawings on other pages. I want users to be able to click on elements of the drawing on page-1 to be taken to other pages in the workbook (page-2, page-3, etc.) where they will see a full size drawings.
Thanks in advance for any help and guidance that you can provide.
