I have had the same issue with 2013 as well but thought upgrading to 2016 might resolve the issue and it hasn't.
I can duplicate the issue every time. When I zoom it will crash.
Running Windows 10.

Tried an online office repair and disabling hardware acceleration.
I need to get this working before either my next work project or my next college class.
