Hyperlink navigation to a page in the same document where the page name starts with % or #

I have created a Cross-Functional Flowchart and want to link some of the boxes etc to specific pages in the same Visio document. I have set the sub-address in the hyperlinks & it works great. But when the Visio page name starts with % or # the hyperlink doesn't work.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
