Data graphics layout changes, when bound data is updated, lock layout?

Hello,
I need to show multiple sets of 4 related data fields (in line) in Visio, preferable as a shape.

I imported the data out of an excel sheet with following rows: "ID", "PLC", "Terminal", "Slot" and "VarName". "ID" doesn't need to be shown, it's only to uniquely identify the data sets.

For visualisation of the data I choose a data graphic: (I don't know if this is the right way, but it's the only thing I could come up with)

So I created a new data graphic, choose 4 of the above mentioned data fields and dragged an example data on to the drawing.
Then I edited it the way it should look, highlighted the whole thing and dragged it into my document stencils to the left.

Now this works well when I drag in multible set of example data while the MasterShape (I named it "IO_IN") in the document stencil is selected. If I edit the data in the "External Data" window, the shape is updated immediately and only the text changes.
But if I update the source of the external data (for example change the string in "VarName" in the excel sheet), the layout of the shape (including in the MasterShape) changes back to it's original layout!

In my example, I edited the shape so the data fields are not shown below each other but ratherin line beside each other. When updated, the fields are now again below each other and have completely wrong sizes.

Can I somehow lock the MasterShape so that in every case, only the values (strings)of the fields change?

Or is there some other way to show the data the way I need to display it? Maybe a completelydifferent approach to the problem?

I searched the internet and Visio Help for days and experimented for hours but could not come up with a solution.

Sorry but I can not add images of my steps, because my account is not yet verified.

I'm open for any hint or help i can get. Thanks.
