Accessing the custom properties Visio file (that has VSD extension) using VB Macros

Is there a way to access the custom properties Visio file (that has VSD extension) using VB Macros

Similarly, can custom properties be placed inside Visio files, just like the ability to do so in MS-Word (by inserting a field in the document)
