Clicking .VDW Diagram in VWA Web Part Scrolls Page and Selects Incorrect Visio Shape Object

Greetings!

I'm working on a process management web site for a client. The site is developed in SharePoint 2013, and each page displays a process map diagram in .VDW format in a Visio Web Access web part. I have a basic JavaScript on the page to add a handler for onShapeSelected and navigate to the target of the shape's first hyperlink, if one exists for the selected shape.

If the SharePoint page is scrolled such that the entire .VDW page in the web part appears on screen, clicking hyperlinked shapes in the process map correctly triggers shape selection and activates the hyperlink. However, if the SharePoint page is scrolled such that only part of the .VDW appears on screen, then clicking the shape actually scrolls the page in the browser, and when the user releases the mouse button, shape selection is triggered on whatever shape is then under the mouse pointer. Often this is not the same hyperlinked shape, and the result the user observes is that the diagram has "jumped around" and clicking the shape "does nothing."

Has anyone else seen this behavior? Any suggestions on how to prevent the "jumping" of the diagram on mouseDown?

Thanks!
