I am trying to maximize the use of page space for my org charts, which includes VBA to abbreviate job titles (e.g. Manager -> Mgr) in my raw data, manually shrinking the size the org chart boxes, and removing any unnecessary elements (e.g. images). I've run into a problem with the shape text margins, and I have not found a way to edit this via the UI;
Shape type= shapetacular
Image= suppressed
Theme= simple
This has a cleaner look than the default chart shapes and theme, but is a very inefficient use of space- I'd like to set the shape margins to something very close to zero (VBA solution is perfectly acceptable).
The other issue is that every time I expand linked direct reports, all of the newly added shapes show up with the default shape height and width, and text size. Is there a way (VBA or through settings I haven't located yet) to force all new org charts, and all expanded reporting trees, to use my preferred shape size and font settings?
Many thanks!
EDIT: I had to remove the image illustrating the shape margin issue, as the forum gave me an error: "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account." Interesting, because there is no button or link to verify my account, on the posting page or that I could find in my profile page. Also, I've been posting for quite some time on MS Answers forum, you'd think that MS would talk to itself and know that I'm a "valid" user. I also had to remove the link to my previous post, again a post back to a MS site. <sigh>
